Vintage moped of the day is a beautifully restored Baretta Magnum. Sabatino Mopeds of Portland restored and built up the Baretta. Rachel (https://www.instagram.com/internationalbunny/) is the current owner/rider of the moped
Baretta Magnum is a top tank model manufactured by Piccoli Motori of Italy. The step-through version of this moped is the Model 38. They share the same frame and parts. The only difference is the gas tanks. The Model 38 gas tank mounts to the forward part of the frame making it a step-through design.
All Barretta vintage mopeds are powered by the Minarelli V1 two-stroke engine. The original engines ranged between 1 to 2 horsepower. Sabatino adds to the power of the Minarelli V1 with some standard performance parts. If you have a stock Minarelli V1 I would recommend the same parts listed in the engine section below. Compare it with the other V1 engines we have posted in the past, its a proven setup for more power.
