Shanks moped club from Austin Texas hosted their second moped rally May 3rd to the 5th this year (2019). They built a custom Cimatti raffle bike for the rally.
The City Bike is a moped made by Italian manufacturer Cimatti. These mopeds are originally powered by 49cc Minarelli engines. A City Bike is a step-through model that has the gas tank located in the rear between the book rack and fender.
The Shanks built the Cimatti raffle bike into a top tank cafe racer inspired moped. The original gas tank was removed, and a Garelli SSXL tank and support was added. The solo seat mount was chopped off and replaced with a custom long seat. Bellow is a breakdown of the details on the appearance and engine build.
