Peugeot TSM is one of the top tank moped models the French company made. Unlike the TSA the TSM was available in the U.S. market. It is not a very common moped, but I wouldn’t say it’s rare. Consider yourself lucky if you find a TSM below $800 in “good” condition.
Rick (https://www.instagram.com/wreckrebuildrepeat/) built this Peugeot TSM. He is currently building a second one. I wanted to share this build because I haven’t seen too many of these custom-built. Most owners of TSM leave the moped original and upgrade the engine parts.
With the TSM you get a lot of good features in a moped. A large top gas tank that is removable and gives it that traditional motorcycle appearance. The Peugeot 103 engine, arguably one of the best moped engines around. The engine provides enough torque and power to move it faster than most vintage mopeds. Every part of the engine can be upgraded with performance parts giving it the potential to reach those speeds mopeds were not intended for. It’s a taller moped and fits better for taller/bigger riders.
For all of these reasons, the Peugeot TSM commands a higher price tag than most mopeds. If you find one with engine upgrades between 1k and 1500, I recommend taking it. The engine upgrades in this build push close to that price tag if not more.
