This custom Motobecane Sebring cafe racer is our Moped of the day. The Sebring was sold into the late ’80s. Earlier years were marketed as Motobecane and later models labeled as Motomorina. These were Italian built mopeds, though Motobecane is a French moped brand. They came powered by Italian 50cc Minarelli or Franco Morini engines.
The Sebring is one of the larger produced vintage mopeds. They have a large capacity gas tank of about 3 gallons. David (https://www.instagram.com/heyrudeboi/) picked up this original Sebring and built it into a cafe racer. He went with lower handlebars and removed a lot of the bulk. David painted the moped himself. He used a lace paint job technique. See the before and after pictures below.
