Fantic Motor Lei

Fantic Motor is an Italian motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1968. Today’s moped is the Fantic Motor Lei, manufactured from the late ’70s to early ’80s.  This Lei was owned by Paul of the slopeds (https://www.instagram.com/ratherplaydead/).  Fantic made a few different models of 50cc mopeds into the late ’80s. Most are powered by a version of the Minarelli platform.

The Fantic Motor Lei is one of a few mini mopeds to come out in the ’70s.  Garelli made a micro moped that looks similar, you can find that HERE.  According to Fantic Motor, they were trying to appeal to a younger market when designing most of their models.

The Minarelli V1 is a great engine and does not take much effort to produce more power and speeds.  Paul’s engine setup paired with the small size of the Fantic Lei makes for a fun and zippy ride.  Imagine yourself at a top speed of 50 mph or so, on a small wheelbase.
