1980 Vespa Grande resto-mod by Scott (https://www.instagram.com/sdawsonfx/). This Grande has been kept original for the most part. Scott did not lower the bars or modify the moped to look anything else besides a moped. He did repaint the moped and upholster the seat from the OEM design. For the most part, this is a restored grande with a new color and performance parts.
This is a great example of updating a vintage moped. The Vespa Grande by Piaggio is a solid moped design. Its only major weak point in its structure is the OEM subframe/swingarm that has a tendency to crack or break. Reinforcing it or replacements are an option for Grande’s.
Vespa vintage mopeds are another moped brand that people love or hate its engine. Most of the negative points are the top speed and performance parts. Scott resolved the speed limitations with the OEM engine case by upgrading to the Polini speed case. This case allows for bigger performance parts to be used on Piaggio vintage mopeds. Check out his setup below and let us know what you think about his build in the comments section.

Very nice, cleanly executed build with attention to detail and functionality,Less Is Best.
I agree. I like the seat, it reminds me of the upholstery of a VW GTI.
Nice bike, do you know where I can get parts for my 1978 Vespa Grande
Try Treatland, Denny’s cycles, Moped Division, or Dos Cycles.
