This is an older build I found a few years ago. I had forgotten about it but while looking for inspiration for an upcoming build it popped up on my radar again. I remember there are a number of things I liked about this, so I wanted to share them with you.
To begin, it was built by Italian motorcycle builders FMW (https://www.fmwmotorcycles.com/index.asp). They mostly build custom motorcycles and built this chopper for fun. According to FMW the bike is a Garelli Export 3VK but from my research, I believe it to be a Benelli 3VK. Technically it isn’t a true moped as it does not have pedals. It is more of a small displacement motorcycle. My guess is the “3” in the 3VK is for a 3-speed manual transmission. I would still consider it a moped. The frame, wheels, and most parts come from moped origins and the engine is a 49cc two-stroke.
