5 products to help secure your moped – Cover
A cover for your moped is a good investment. In the garage, it helps keep dust build up off the moped. Outside a weatherproof cover will help protect mopeds from the weather elements.
Trixes Motorcycle Bicycle bike cover is small and weather resistant. An added “cool” feature to it are the mopeds printed on the outside cover. The fabric looks similar to the cape used by barber shops.

The Puroma bike cover is another waterproof cover. It has some UV protection, this helps to keep the cover from “dry rotting” and sun damage. An added feature for this cover is the hole for a lock. I do not recommend only locking the front wheel as one could just remove the front wheel and make away with the moped. So get creative with the lock whole and that will help keep the cover from blowing off the moped.
5 products to help secure your moped – Locks
More importantly then covers for your moped is a lock and chain. You should chain the frame of the bike to a rack or some permanent structure. Here are a few options for securing your moped to a rack.
A cable lock for a motorcycle is a good option. We do not recommend the cable locks designed for bicycles. Bicycle cable locks are thinner than a cable lock for a motorcycle. You want to make it as difficult as possible, that is why we recommend the thicker motorcycle cable locks. The Stockton 423 Cable lock is an all included motorcycle lock. The lock is designed into one end of the cable.
The Kryptonite Keeper 785 is a chain with an integrated lock like the Stockton. Again no need to fumble with a separate lock and chain. It can be unlocked and one half released, no worries about dropping the lock in the dark. These come with a cover for the chain to protect your moped from getting scratched by the heavy metal chain.
The last on our list can be used alone but we recommend pairing it with a chain or cable lock as well as a cover. The Club UTL810 Utility Lock is a good option for a u-lock over the Kryptonite. It has a wider opening that could come in handy when needing to get creative with securing your moped. The wider opening could lock up to the wheel, frame, and bike rack on some mopeds.
