Motobecan mopeds have smooth acceleration, responsive handling, and fuel efficiency. It featured a single-speed variable automatic transmission, allowing for effortless riding. Engine
The Motobecane 50V engine is a two-stroke engine commonly found in Motobecane mopeds, particularly the 50V model. Featuring a displacement of around 49cc, the Motobecane 50V engine is compact and lightweight. It employs a piston-ported design. It is air-cooled to regulate engine temperature during operation. The drive train is a variable transmission using a pully system paired with a variator. This helps to deliver different gear ratios through the power band. An advantage of this system helps in providing more torque over other moped models off the line and up hills.
Appearance
The Motobecane typically featured 17-inch rims. These rims provided stability and smooth handling, making them well-suited for urban commuting and leisurely rides. The color scheme, mag wheels, and long seat are iconic on the Le Moped model. The frame looks similar to the Mobylette model, but it is different. The Le Moped has a more modern line design than the round classic design of the Mobylette. One feature of this model is a wheel lock that stores away in the storage box under the seat. The seat is a modern design of the long seat of the Mobylette model. The rear rack expands for additional rack space.
